Harju Laagri have secured continuity at the top, announcing that head coach Lauri Nuuma will remain in charge after signing a 1+1 contract extension. The deal follows a season in which the club finished seventh in their debut season of Premium Liiga.
Club CEO Kalmar Liiv praised the renewal as an essential step for a club whose philosophy is deeply rooted in youth development. Nuuma’s influence, he noted, has been central to shaping both the team’s identity and its progress on the pitch. Harju’s squad averaged just under 22 years of age throughout the campaign, a statistic Liiv sees as further validation of their long-term vision.
Nuuma, in his first full season at the helm, guided the club to ten league victories and six draws, but just as importantly, he oversaw clear individual growth within the team. Rising talents like Karel Eerme, who earned a national-team call-up, and Jose Martin Ribeiro, who secured a move abroad to Slovenia, highlighted the development pathway Harju have worked to build.
Reflecting on the season, Nuuma expressed pride in how his side matured over the course of the campaign, crediting the group’s work ethic and unity as key drivers of their success. Having previously spent four years inside the club structure as sporting director and assistant coach, the 38-year-old has been closely involved in Harju’s evolution – and now gets the chance to lead the next stage.
