Latvia Under-21 midfielder Markuss Strods made his first League of Ireland Premier Division start for Bohemians as the Dublin side were held to a 1-1 draw by newly promoted Dundalk.
The 19-year-old played his part in Bohemians’ opening goal in the 20th minute, providing the assist for Patrick Hickey to score. It was the second time in eight days that a Strods pass had led directly to a Hickey goal after the same combination decided a 1-0 win over Galway last week, when the breakthrough came in the 87th minute.
Bohemians remain top of the table after eight rounds, one point clear of St Patrick’s Athletic.
