Another fixture of the 21st round in the TOPsport A Lyga took place in Marijampolė, where the local side Sūduva hosted visitors from the capital — Vilnius Riteriai. In a match short on clinical finishing, the two sides battled to a goalless 0–0 draw.
The home team created an early chance in the 7th minute when Meinardas Mikulėnas made a sharp run into the penalty area after receiving a pass from Vukašin Bulatović. However, his shot drifted narrowly wide of the post. Despite some promising movements, neither goalkeeper was truly tested in the first half, with no shots on target registered by either team.
At the start of the second half, debutant Arvydas Novikovas, who came on as a substitute, added more bite to Riteriai’s attack. Set up by Mikulėnas, Novikovas aimed to make an immediate impact, but was denied, thanks in part to a solid defensive intervention from Žygimantas Baltrūnas.
In the 62nd minute, home teams Amara Haidara attempted a left-footed shot from a tight angle, but it missed just wide. Sidy Sanokho also had a go, but his effort lacked accuracy.
As the match neared its conclusion, Sūduva pressed hard with a series of set pieces and aerial duels in the final third. However, they were unable to convert any of those opportunities into goals, as the Vilnius side held firm with disciplined and determined defending.
Following this result, Riteriai secure an important point, bringing their total to 14, while Sūduva remain in second place on the league table with 38 points.
