Eerste Divisie, Netherlands

The 24-year-old midfielder was announced as a new Den Bosch player in December and made his official debut today. Starting on the bench, Soomets watched as Den Bosch had a disastrous first half, conceding four goals, which left the game virtually decided.

He came on as a substitute at the beginning of the second half and played until the end, but Den Bosch allowed another goal in the second half, resulting in a disappointing 0-5 defeat.

Despite this loss, Den Bosch remains competitive in the Eerste Divisie, currently sitting in 6th place with 33 points. The table is closely contested, with only six points separating 4th through 11th place.

In another match, Maksim Paskotši’s Grasshoppers faced Sion FC on the road. Paskotsi began on the bench but was quickly brought onto the field after a teammate received a red card in the 4th minute. Despite being a man down and facing heavy pressure throughout the game, Grasshoppers took the lead in the 64th minute when Argentinean Tomas Veron scored a goal.

Although Sion dominated the match statistically, with 24 shots attempted compared to Grasshoppers’ 3, they could not convert their chances, as reflected by the expected goals (xG) of 2.77 for Sion and 0.43 for Grasshoppers. Ultimately, Grasshoppers held on for an important victory, which helped them rise to 10th place in the league table.
