Lithuanian international Pijus Širvys scored his first goal of the season in a win for his NK Maribor in the Slovenian top-flight.
Pijus started today’s match against Radomlje. The Lithuanian scored his first goal of the season in the 64th minute, when the scoreboard showed 2:0 for Maribor.
Pijus made a great run down the right flank, receiving a beautiful backheel pass from Algerian El Arbi Soudami. He scored with a powerful shot from close range, giving the goalkeeper no chance to save it.
Maribor also scored the fourth goal in the 74th minute to secure a dominating win.
Maribor moved up to second place after this win. They are three points behind leaders Olimpija Ljubljana, but Olimpija has played two fewer games than Maribor.
Next game for Širvys and co will be on Tuesday when they will play a cup game and Aluminij.
