Estonian vice-champions FCI Levadia Tallinn have officially announced that full-back Michael Schjönning-Larsen will not remain with the club next season and will continue his career abroad.

It had been widely known since autumn that the 24-year-old left-back would leave Levadia upon the expiration of his contract, but the club confirmed it officially today.

Schjönning-Larsen joined Levadia at the start of the 2023 season from Kuressaare and quickly established himself as a key figure. In the current campaign, he made 33 league appearances, scoring once and providing eight assists.

Overall, the defender who was born and raised in Denmark played 114 matches for Levadia, scoring six goals and registering 13 assists in all competitions. During his three seasons with the club, he lifted one Premium Liiga title, one Estonian Cup, and one Super Cup trophy.

His standout performances with Levadia also earned him a regular place in the Estonian national team. Schjönning-Larsen made his international debut in June 2024 and has since become a permanent fixture in the squad, starting 17 of Estonia’s last 18 matches. The defender is still searching for his first international goal.

In an farewell message, Schjönning-Larsen said:

“My time with Levadia is over and I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone at the club. It has been an honor to wear this shirt and be part of an environment that has helped me grow as a player and a person.

To my teammates – thank you for the hard work, the laughter and all the moments we shared, both on and off the pitch. I am proud of everything we have achieved together and even prouder of the bonds that have been formed along the way.

To the coaches and the entire support team – thank you for your trust, support and dedication. Your work may sometimes be overshadowed, but to the players it means everything. And to the fans – your energy and passion made every game special. I will never forget the atmosphere you created or how you welcomed me from day one.

Levadia will always be an important chapter in my career and I leave here with great respect and good memories. I wish everyone only the best and I will keep my fingers crossed for Levadia no matter where the next steps take me. Thank you for everything.”

According to reported information, the Estonian international is expected to continue his career in Scotland, though no club has yet been officially confirmed.
