According to Sportas.lt, Lithuanian forward Manfredas Ruzgis suffered a leg fracture during Tuesday’s training session while attempting a sudden sprint. The 28-year-old was forced to stop immediately due to the pain and could not continue.
The injury is a significant blow for Ruzgis, who enjoyed a remarkable season with Albanian Second Division club KF Vora. He finished as the league’s top scorer with 24 goals in 30 matches, helping his side secure promotion to the Albanian top flight.
His performances did not go unnoticed. After a seven-year hiatus, Ruzgis earned a call-up to the Lithuanian national team, making his return in a 2-2 draw against Finland.
However, the national team’s coaching staff now faces an even more pressing challenge in attack. The squad has recently struggled with a clear shortage of forwards, compounded by the serious injury of Armandas Kučys, who is also sidelined long-term.
Kučys is expected to return to action in next February, while Ruzgis’ rehabilitation is anticipated to take around two months, leaving the national team with limited options up front in the coming fixtures.
