Rokas Filipavičius, who joined FK Banga Gargždai from FK Riteriai ahead of this season, has quickly become one of the team’s most important players. However, last Saturday’s match against FK Žalgiris brought an unfortunate turn of events for the rising star.

Early in the game, Filipavičius missed a golden opportunity to score. Later, as the match neared its conclusion, he suffered a serious injury that will sideline him for an extended period. The incident occurred when Filipavičius attempted to leap over the ball, but an opposing player caught him with a trailing leg. As a result, Filipavičius lost his balance mid-air and landed heavily on the ground.

Following thorough medical examinations, it was revealed that the player had dislocated his collarbone and torn several ligaments. On Sunday, Filipavičius underwent surgery to address the injuries.

The club has not yet provided a timeline for his recovery, but it’s clear that Filipavičius is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines. His absence will be a significant setback for Banga as they continue their league campaign and gradually gear up for their upcoming European challenges.
