
In the opening match of the 15th round of the Tonybet Virslīga, league leaders Riga secured a strong 3-0 away victory against Metta, taking control early with two goals in the first half. Meanwhile, at Daugava Stadium in Liepāja, hosts Liepāja and visitors Auda played out a goalless 0-0 draw, with both teams struggling to find the breakthrough in a tightly contested match.
Riga’s dominance was evident early on as they scored twice in the first half. Winger Meissa Diop broke the deadlock in the 12th minute with a stunning solo run, sprinting nearly the entire length of the pitch before finding the net. Later, in the 35th minute, central defender Baba Musah extended the lead with a powerful header against his former team.
Riga maintained control after halftime, with captain Antonijs Černomordijs adding a third goal in the 61st minute to seal the victory. Goalkeeper Krišjānis Zviedris kept his fourth consecutive clean sheet for Riga FC.
Under coach Adrian Gula’s guidance, Riga celebrated their ninth consecutive Virslīga win, topping the league table with 36 points. Meanwhile, Metta remain ninth in the standings with 12 points after 15 rounds. In their final game at the Hanza Vidusskolas Stadium, Metta fans put on a great tifo display to mark the occasion, as the team will now continue their home fixtures at Jūrmalas Sloka Stadium.

The other match of the day took place at Daugava Stadium in Liepāja, where hosts FK Liepāja faced visitors FK Auda. Although Auda controlled possession more in the first half, Liepāja created the clearer attacking chances. Near the end of the first half, Auda was forced to make a substitution due to injury, with their league leader in assists Emīls Birka replaced by Jegors Novikovs in the 31st minute.
The second half saw little change in momentum — Liepāja remained the more attacking side, while Auda maintained greater control of the ball. In stoppage time, Vladislavs Sorokins promising volley chance was saved by Matrevics. Liepāja earned their fourth draw of the season, climbing to fifth place in the table.
