FC Flora Women suffered a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Latvian champions Riga FC Women in the second round of the Women’s Baltic Football League.

The match, held at the EJL football hall in Tallinn was short on chances early on, but the visitors took the lead in the 36th minute when Kumba Zanaib Brima struck at the near post after a cross from the left.

Half time did not result in much improvements for Flora and things went from bad to worse when goalkeeper Victoria Vihman misplaced a pass in the opening minute of the second half and Brima punished the mistake from close range to make it 2-0. Flora threatened to pull a goal back late on, but could not find the net.

The result leaves Flora fourth in the six-team table, tied on three points each. Flora and RFS Women played two games each while MFA Žalgiris and Riga Women only one and, thus, have a game in hand. Gintra and Saku Sporting complete the table with 0 points from one match each and will face each other tomorrow in Pärnu.
