Riga FC have announced that following their final Latvian Virslīga match of the season – the Rīga Derby against FC RFS – the club will hold a special post-match title celebration ceremony featuring a live performance by British singer John Newman.
Riga FC, who secured the Virslīga championship last Friday with two rounds remaining, announced on social media that John Newman will perform at Skonto Stadium on November 7 after the derby clash. The English artist is best known for his global hit “Love Me Again,” a song especially familiar to football fans as it featured on the FIFA 14 video game soundtrack.
This season marks Riga FC’s first league title since 2020, capping off a successful campaign. However, the club narrowly missed out on a domestic double after suffering a 1-2 defeat to FK Auda in the Latvian Cup Final at Skonto Stadium earlier this week.
