According to Baltic Football News sources, Riga FC and Latvia national team winger Eduards Daškevičs will conclude the season playing for FK Auda.

Daškevičs began his career in Daugavpils’ youth system before moving to the academy of Belgian club RSC Anderlecht. His first professional season in men’s football came in Norway with HamKam, where he also made 8 appearances in the country’s top division, the Eliteserien.

The 23-year-old joined Riga FC ahead of the 2023 season. Although he did not get many minutes in his debut year, he still impressed statistically, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists in the Virslīga. Last season, under coach Simo Valakari, Daškevičs gained significant trust, playing more than 2,000 minutes and contributing 4 goals and 8 assists.

However, this season under Slovak coach Adrian Guľa, his playing time has been limited. In the left-wing position, Joao Grimaldo has often been preferred, notably delivering two strong performances against Beitar Jerusalem in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers, while the Latvian winger was left out of the squad. So far, Daškevičs has featured in 17 matches this season, starting only 3 of them.

Standing 171 cm tall, Daškevičs has earned 19 caps for the Latvia national team. He made his debut at home in the painful 2–3 defeat to Turkey in the European Championship qualifiers.

Now he will join FK Auda, coached by Jurģis Kalns, a club that has recently faced challenges both on and off the pitch. At the moment, Auda sit fourth in the Latvian Virslīga, seven points behind third-placed FK Liepāja. Their next match is scheduled for Monday against SK Super Nova, in the Latvian Cup.
