Lithuanian A Lyga side FC Džiugas Telšiai has announced that their full-back Vyacheslav Kulbachuk has been sold to Hungarian club Debrecen for a club-record transfer fee.

The 20-year-old Ukrainian full-back, capable of playing on both flanks, joined Džiugas before the season. He quickly established himself as one of the key players in the first half of the campaign, making 20 appearances out of a possible 21 and registering one assist.

The club has confirmed that Kulbachuk will continue his career at Debrecen, with the transfer setting a new record for Džiugas. Although the exact fee has not been disclosed, according to Baltic Football News sources it is around €30,000. Debrecen, one of Hungary’s most decorated clubs, finished ninth in the top flight last season and opened the new campaign with a draw. The club has won the national title seven times, most recently in the 2013/14 season.

Before moving to Lithuania, Kulbachuk had already spent several years in Hungary. After relocating from Ukraine in 2022, he joined the youth system of Budapest Honvéd. Over the course of three seasons, he made 14 appearances for the first team, though he spent most of his time playing for the club’s reserves.
