Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced the signing of Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare, a former standout of the Latvian Virslīga.
The 24-year-old forward began his professional career in 2019 with Valmiera FC, where he made an instant impact. During just a season and a half in Latvia, Arokodare scored 22 goals in 32 league appearances, quickly establishing himself as one of the competition’s most lethal finishers.
His performances earned him a loan move to the Bundesliga with 1. FC Köln, where he featured in 10 matches but failed to find the back of the net. From Germany, he moved on loan to French Ligue 2 side Amiens SC, who later secured his services permanently in January 2023 for €2.5 million. During his time in France, he notched 21 goals in 63 appearances, attracting attention from bigger clubs abroad.
That next step came with a transfer to Belgian giants KRC Genk, where Arokodare’s career took off once again. Last season, he finished as the Pro League’s top scorer, netting 21 goals and adding six assists, proving his ability to deliver at the highest level.
Now, after his breakout campaign in Belgium, Wolves have swooped in. The Premier League club announced on Sunday that Arokodare has signed a four-year contract, with reports suggesting the transfer fee stands at around €26 million.
