
Today, the Polish Ekstraklasa returned after a winter break with a match between Latvian national team player Alvis Jaunzems and Estonian national team player Märten Kuusk’s representative teams.
Ekstraklasa, Poland
Center-backs Märten Kuusk of GKS Katowice hosted Alvis Jaunzems of Stal Mielec. Both players were in the starting lineup and played the entire match. GKS Katowice emerged victorious, winning 1-0 thanks to a goal by Marcin Wasielewski in the 62nd minute.
Kuusk who made his 15th appearance in the Ekstraklasa this season, received a yellow card, while Alvis Jaunzems played his 18th game of the season. Currently, GKS Katowice sits 9th in the Ekstraklasa league table with 26 points, while Stal Mielec is 13th with seven fewer points, out of 18 teams.
Eerste Divisie, Netherlands
In the Dutch Eerste Divisie, Markus Soomets made his third appearance for his new club, Den Bosch, as they defeated the league leaders FC Volendam 3-0. Soomets started the match on the bench and entered the field in the 80th minute. Den Bosch is currently 3rd in the league table, seven points behind leaders Volendam but just three points from the second place, Excelsior. Second place would qualify them for automatic promotion to the Eredivisie.
Latvian goalkeeper Vladislavs Razumejevs was on the bench as his team Dordrecht played a 1-1 draw against De Graafschap. The 19-year-old goalkeeper has yet to make his first-team debut with Dordrecht, which is currently in 4th place in the league table with 41 points, just one point behind Markus Soomets’ Den Bosch.
