Kristofer Piht (24) has returned to Paide Linnameeskond after an impressive season with Harju JK Laagri, the club announced on their website. Last season in the Premium Liiga, the forward scored six goals and provided five assists.

Piht made his top-flight debut with Paide in 2017 at just 16 years of age. Over eight seasons with the club, he won the Tipner Cup (Estonian Cup) and the Estonian Super Cup, and scored the decisive goal that earned Paide their first-ever European victory, a 2022 away win over Dinamo Tbilisi.

The striker joined Paide from Nõmme United and also spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons in Italy with SPAL’s youth setup. In the Estonian top tier, Piht has made 142 appearances, scoring 28 goals and registering 14 assists.

Paide sporting director Gert Kams welcomed the return of a familiar figure. “We know Kristofer very well – he took his first steps in the top division here in Paide. We remember his important and emotional goals, and he has always been an important player for Linnameeskond,” said Kams.

Kams noted that injuries had disrupted Piht’s later years at the club, making a move necessary at the time. “When our first period together ended, we both understood that he needed a stable, injury-free season and regular playing time. He got exactly that at Laagri and showed himself in a very positive light. At the end of the season, we quickly reached a mutual understanding and agreement.

Describing Piht’s playing profile, Kams highlighted his physical presence and intensity. “Kris attacks space behind the defensive line well, he’s strong and a real headache for defenders. His power in aerial duels is also a big asset. We know his character and we know that he always gives his maximum on the pitch. Welcome back to Paide, Kristofer.”

Piht himself said the return felt special. “The good old days in Paide are definitely still in my mind,” he said. “But the new year will be even stronger than the previous ones. I feel I’m coming back to Paide much more mature, and without a doubt with much greater motivation.”
