# Patrikejevs earns first Latvia call-up: Nicolato names the squad for last Nations League games
**Latvia national team head coach Paolo Nicolato has named a 25-man squad for the final international window of 2026, with Latvia set to conclude their UEFA Nations League campaign against Montenegro and Armenia. Latvia U21 captain Ivans Patrikejevs has received his first senior call-up, while Jānis Ikaunieks returns to the squad after missing the previous international window through injury.**

Latvia head into their final two Nations League fixtures following a disappointing September–October international window, during which they collected just one point from four matches. Nicolato’s side drew against Cyprus but suffered three defeats, losing 0-2 away to Armenia, 1-2 at home to Montenegro and 1-2 away to Cyprus.

Among those included in the latest squad is Queens Park Rangers defender Denniss Cirkins, who made his senior international debut during the previous window and featured in three of Latvia’s four matches.

Another notable returnee is Jānis Ikaunieks, who recently helped RFS secure the Latvian Virslīga title. The attacking midfielder missed the previous international window due to injury but is now back in contention, with four players from the newly crowned Latvian champions included in the squad.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old midfielder Ivans Patrikejevs has earned his first call-up to the senior national team. The Latvia U21 captain, who represents SK Super Nova, has made 32 appearances in the Virslīga this season, contributing two goals and three assists. His inclusion provides Nicolato with another option in midfield as Latvia look to finish their campaign on a positive note.

With only one point collected from their opening four matches, Latvia can no longer finish higher than third in their Nations League group.

Latvia will first travel to face Montenegro on 12 November before returning home to conclude their Nations League campaign against Armenia on 15 November.
