Panevėžys began their pre-season ahead of the 2026 campaign with a 1-1 draw against fellow A Lyga club – Džiugas.
The hosts fell behind in the 21st minute after an error inside their own penalty area allowed Džiugas to take advantage. Panevėžys struggled to find the rhythm before the break but improved in the second half.
Kwadwo Asamoah struck the crossbar with a header in the 60th minute, while Nojus Lukšys was denied by a defender from the goal line. A Salomon Kouadio effort also forced work from the Džiugas goalkeeper before Panevėžys levelled in the 85th minute, when a striker on trial headed the ball in past the visitor’s keeper.
Panevėžys’ next friendly is scheduled for Saturday, 17 January, against Latvian BFC Daugavpils at the Beržai School Stadium, with kick-off at 13:00.
