Panevėžys have signed left-back Dovydas Balsys to his first professional contract, tying the 17-year-old to a three-year deal.
Balsys made his A Lyga debut last season at 16 and became the league’s youngest player. In the 2025 campaign he featured four times in the top flight.
The Panevėžys academy graduate played a bigger part for the club’s B team in the Pirma lyga, scoring twice in 27 matches. He also appeared for the senior side in the Lithuanian Cup tie against Vilniaus Trivarčis, where he scored twice.
Balsys said he was pleased to sign his first professional agreement and aims to keep improving after gaining experience during a trial in Finland.
Panevėžys begin their winter friendly programme on Saturday, 10 January, against Džiugas at Beržai School Stadium, with kick-off at 14:00.
