FK Liepāja have announced that Croatian midfielder Marin Laušic and Latvian goalkeeper Iļja Isajevs will not be part of the team next season, as their contracts have expired.

The 24-year-old Laušic joined Liepāja in the summer of 2024 when the team was sitting at the bottom of the table and looking to turn their season around. He immediately became one of the key players, making 14 league appearances and scoring once, helping the club climb the standings and finish 6th at the end of the 2024 campaign.

This season, Laušic remained an important figure in Liepāja’s midfield. He made 30 league appearances, scoring three goals and providing six assists. He played a major role in Andreas Alm’s side, which finished 3rd in the league and secured European football for next season.
Now, with his contract coming to an end, it has been confirmed that he will not return next year, with the former NK Maribor, Slaven Belupo and NK Solin man set to take the next step in his career.

Another departing player is 24-year-old goalkeeper Iļja Isajevs. The young shot-stopper joined Liepāja before the 2024 season but made just two appearances across two years, mostly serving as a backup or third-choice keeper.

Lausič and Isajevs join the growing list of departures, as last week Liepāja also announced that Montenegrin defenders Marko Simić and Anto Babić would be leaving the club.
