Lithuania’s national team head coach Edgaras Jankauskas has announced the squad for the final international window of the year, which will see the team play a friendly match against Israel and conclude their World Cup qualifying campaign away to the Netherlands.

Compared to the October call-up, there are a few notable changes. Vykintas Slivka, who plays in Japan, and Domantas Antanavičius are both absent from this list. Edvinas Girdvainis is also unavailable due to suspension – he will miss the qualifier against the Netherlands after accumulating too many yellow cards and has therefore not been called up.

His place has been taken by Sigitas Olberkis, the 28-year-old central defender currently playing in the Albanian top division for AF Elbasani. This is his first national team call-up since 2021. Another returning face is Domantas Šimkus, the Hamrun Spartans midfielder from Malta’s top flight, who rejoins the squad after more than two years away from international duty.

There is also good news for Edgaras Dubickas, the forward from Italy’s Serie C, who has been called up again after being named in the previous October camp but was forced to withdraw due to injury.

Lithuania will first host Israel at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium in Kaunas on November 13, before traveling to face the Netherlands four days later in the final match of their World Cup qualifying campaign.
