Defending Virslīga champions Riga FC have officially announced the signing of Tunisian right winger Raki Aouani, strengthening their attacking options ahead of the new season.
The 21-year-old has spent his entire professional career with Étoile Sportive du Sahel, one of Tunisia’s most successful clubs. During the 2022/23 season, Aouani was part of the ES Sahel side that lifted the Tunisian league title. Across all competitions, he made 111 appearances for the club, contributing 13 goals and 14 assists.
At international level, Aouani has been called up once to the Tunisian senior national team but is yet to make his debut. In 2023, however, he represented Tunisia at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, where the team reached the round of 16 before being eliminated by Brazil’s U-20 side.
Aouani becomes Riga FC’s second signing of the transfer window and their first foreign addition. Earlier, the club confirmed the arrival of goalkeeper Frenks Dāvids Orols from their rivals FC RFS.
