FK Auda has officially announced that Jurģis Kalns will be the club’s new manager, with assistant coach Renārs Rode and goalkeeper coach Anthony McMullen also joining the club.

On the last day of January, we reported that Jurģis Kalns had mutually agreed to part ways with the Cambodian Premier League side Visakha FC, where he had been since the summer of 2024, and that he will become the new manager for FK Auda, replacing Zoran Zeljkovic.

Now a week later the club confirmed the news today on their social media, marking Kalns’ return to the place where he began his managerial career in 2015.

Kalns’ managerial journey started at FK Auda. But in 2018, he moved to Super Nova, achieving a second-place finish in his first and only season there, narrowly missing promotion to the Virslīga after losing in the relegation playoff against FK Metta.

In 2019, Kalns took over as manager of FK Tukums 2000/Telms, leading the team to victory in the Nākotnes Līga and securing their promotion to the Virslīga. He also was the manager for Tukums in the following shortened Covid-19 season.

In 2021, he joined Tamaz Pertia’s staff at Valmiera, and in 2022, he became the head coach, successfully leading the team to its first Virslīga title. But he departed from Valmiera last season and moved to Cambodia after he signed up with Visakha FC.

Renārs Rode will serve as one of the assistant coaches for Jurģis Kalns, while Anthony McMullen will take on the role of goalkeeping coach. Also, Aleksandr Rekhviashvili, the former assistant coach at Super Nova, will remain in Kalns’ staff as another assistant coach. Before Kalns arrived, Rekhviashvili was FK Auda’s caretaker manager during their training camp in Dubai.
