According to our sources, former Lithuanian international Arvydas Novikovas is about to be unveiled by FK Riteriai, marking a return to the A Lyga for the 34-year-old winger. The move comes as Riteriai, who earned promotion back to Lithuania’s top flight in 2024, continue to search for form amid a difficult season, both on and off the pitch.

Novikovas, who most recently featured for BFA in the second tier, brings extensive experience at both club and international level. He has played for a range of teams across Europe, including Hearts of Midlothian in Scotland, Samsunspor in Turkey and Legia Warsaw in Poland. In total, he has represented the Lithuanian national team 96 times, scoring 12 goals.

Throughout his career, Novikovas has accumulated several honours, including the Lithuanian Footballer of the Year award on three occasions, in 2018, 2020, and 2021. He was part of the Legia Warsaw squad that won the Ekstraklasa title in the 2019–20 season and lifted the Turkish top tier trophy with Samsunspor in 2022–23.

The move to Riteriai sees Novikovas return to the capital, having previously played for Žalgiris during the 2023–24 season. His arrival is expected to bolster a Riteriai side that has struggled to adapt to the demands of top-tier football following their promotion.
