Latvian U-21 defender Daniels Nosegbe-Suško has helped his side Samtredia reach the semifinals of the Georgian Cup, following a 2-1 away victory over Rustavi.
The 21-year-old center-back once again started in the lineup for the Georgian second-division club. Samtredia’s cup run has been impressive: in the opening round they eliminated top-flight giants Dinamo Tbilisi, before dispatching third-tier side Odishi 1919 in the round of 16.
Against Rustavi, also from the second division, Samtredia built a two-goal lead within 30 minutes of the first half. Although the hosts pulled one back shortly after, no further goals were scored, and Nosegbe-Suško’s team celebrated reaching the Georgian Cup semifinals for the first time since the 2014/15 season. The Latvian defender played the full match, marking his 10th appearance since joining Samtredia this summer.
In the semifinal, Samtredia will face Dila Gori, who were knocked out of European competition earlier this year by Latvian champions Riga FC.
Meanwhile, in Italy’s Serie C, 19-year-old Latvian Roberts Bočs once again remained on the bench as his team Vis Pesaro suffered a 1–3 away defeat to Forlì.
Bočs, on loan from Serie A club SC Pisa, has yet to make his debut in Serie C this season, spending every match so far as an unused substitute. Vis Pesaro have collected six points from six matches, placing them 13th out of 20 teams.
