Nõmme Kalju sign Bogdan Vaštšuk on a two-year deal

Nõmme Kalju have completed the signing of veteran midfielder Bogdan Vaštšuk on a two-year contract. The 30-year-old will join Kalju until the end of the 2027 season.

Vaštšuk returns to Premium liiga football after a career that has taken him across several leagues, including spells with Reading, Levski Sofia, Vorskla Poltava, Stal Mielec, Sligo Rovers, Voždovac, Koper and Al-Shabab.

Kalju head coach Nikita Andrejev said he was pleased to strengthen the squad with a domestic player: “I’m very happy that Bogdan will wear Kalju’s black and pink colours. He’s a player who needs no introduction in Estonia and has everything to help us fight for the top places. We’re looking forward to seeing him on the pitch.

Vaštšuk, who has featured for Estonia’s youth sides and has 15 appearances for the senior national team, said Kalju’s direction and approach persuaded him to make the move. “For me it’s a new step and a new challenge,” he said. “In recent years I’ve followed Kalju’s development, their ambitions and playing style, and I really like it. I’m ready to give everything to help the team achieve its goals. The coaching staff also played a big role – I know their demands, ambition and energy. I thank Kalju for the trust.”
