NK Celje have confirmed that they have extended the contract of Armandas Kučys, with the new deal keeping the Lithuanian forward at the club until June 30, 2028.
Kučys arrived in Celje before the start of last season and immediately proved to be a major success. The tall striker quickly became an indispensable part of the Grofje’s starting lineup, and with his impressive performances he soon climbed to the top of the scoring charts, both in the domestic league and in the UEFA Conference League. Despite a knee injury in March that temporarily halted his remarkable rise, he still finished the 2024/25 campaign with an admirable 18 goals in 33 matches across all competitions.
Following a successful rehabilitation, Kučys is getting closer to returning to the pitch, and the club has now secured his commitment through the end of the 2027/28 season.
“I’m proud and extremely happy to extend my contract with NK Celje. I feel at home here, and we’ve built a special connection with the fans. I truly believe in the club’s project. This extension means even more to me because it came after a difficult period of injury rehabilitation: it’s a strong sign of how much the club believes in me and in my future. I’ll do everything I can to repay that trust with strong performances on the field and help the club achieve its goals. I honestly can’t wait to wear the Celje shirt again,” said the striker, affectionately known as Arma, upon signing the new deal.
