Ņikita Solomonovs will continue his career in Italy after completing a move from JFK Ventspils to Serie B club Venezia, where he will represent the club’s U-19 side on a daily basis, the Kurzeme-based club has announced.
16-year-old Solomonovs is a product of the FS Ventspils academy, having joined at the age of four. The forward progressed through every age group within the club’s system before making his debut in senior football. In 2024, he debuted in Latvia’s Nākotnes līga for JFK Ventspils, making 10 appearances. Last season, wearing the yellow and blue shirt, Solomonovs featured in 21 matches and scored five goals in the second division of football.
His consistent performances at club level earned him a call-up to the Latvia U-17 national team (players born in 2009). In the summer of 2025, Latvia’s U-17 side won the Baltic Cup, with Solomonovs scoring twice against Finland during the tournament. The U-17 team also began its European Championship qualification campaign, playing three matches against Spain (0-5), Denmark (2-3) and Andorra (5-1). In those fixtures, Solomonovs scored three goals – two against Denmark and one against Andorra. To date, he has made eight appearances for Latvia’s U-17 team and scored five goals.
Venezia, founded in 1907 and based in Venice, is a historic Italian club. The team plays its home matches at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo, one of the most distinctive stadiums in Europe, located within the Venetian lagoon. Venezia have competed several times in Italy’s top division and in recent years have established themselves within professional football through a structured development strategy, placing particular emphasis on the growth and integration of young players into the club system.
The young forward already made his debut for Venezia Primavera 2 three days ago, coming on as a substitute in a match against Entella.
