Estonia’s U-21 side remain without a victory since the end of 2024 after letting a two-goal lead slip in their Baltic Cup meeting with Lithuania in Riga.

Karel Mustmaa struck twice inside the opening 15 minutes to put Estonia in control despite Lithuania generally being the better team. The opener came on 12th minute after Kristjan Kriis forced an error and Karel Eerme gathered the loose ball before finding Mustmaa, who struck a low finish from just outside the box inside the post.

Three minutes later Mustmaa pounced again, stealing possession from Lithuania’s last man and beating goalkeeper Rokas Bagdonavičius from close range to make it 2-0.

Lithuania had most of the ball and dominated the first-half statistics, but created little clear-cut danger until pulling one back in the 33rd minute. A run down the left drew Estonia’s midfield across and left Sidas Praleika unmarked on the edge of the area, where he fired home to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Estonia had a chance to restore their lead early in the second half when Andreas Vaher poked a bouncing effort from six metres, but Bagdonavičius produced a sharp reaction save to keep Lithuania in the game.

Lithuania’s efforts finally paid off when Jonas Usavičius scored an equaliser on the 83rd minute to tie the game and deny Estonia the win.

Lithuania U-21 dominated possession and produced 18 shots in total, including 8 shots on goal throughout the match. Estonia, on the other hand, only managed 3 total shots with both shots on target finding their way in.
