Lithuanian bronze medalists FK Žalgiris Vilnius have announced that Serbian winger Nemanja Mihajlović will remain with the club for the upcoming 2026 season.

The 29-year-old will enter his third consecutive season in Vilnius, continuing to be an important part of Žalgiris’ attacking unit. During the previous campaign, the Serbian international featured in 29 matches across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing four assists.

Since joining the club, Mihajlović has played a total of 46 matches in the famous green-and-white shirt, finding the back of the net six times.

The 2024 A Lyga champion Mihajlović brings with him valuable experience from several competitive European leagues. Earlier in his career, he spent multiple seasons in the Serbian top flight, including a notable spell with FK Partizan. He has also made 26 appearances in the Dutch Eredivisie with SC Heerenveen, while gaining additional experience in Poland’s Ekstraklasa, Turkey’s second division, and the Bosnian Premier League.

Žalgiris Vilnius, who will be aiming to reclaim the league title from their rivals FK Kauno Žalgiris, are entering a period of retooling ahead of the new season. Several notable players have departed the club, including Joris Moutachy, Motiejus Burba, and Bruno Tavares.

At the same time, the Vilnius side have been active in strengthening their squad. New arrivals include Deividas Šešplaukis from Šiauliai, as well as Hegelmann duo Klaudijus Upstas and Vincentas Šarkauskas. In addition, forward Nikola Petković and midfielder Kajus Bička have both committed their futures to the club by signing contract extensions.
