Lukas Klisys signs a contract extension with Genoa

Italian Serie A club Genoa CFC has signed a contract extension with Lithuanian center-back Lukas Klisys. The new deal will keep him with the club until June 2027.

The 18-year-old prospect is a product of the Baltijos Futbolo Akademija. In January 2023, he moved to Italy to join Genoa. During his first season, he played for the Genoa U17 team, making 22 appearances.

This season, Klisys has advanced to the U20 team, where he has played in 13 matches in the highest Italian youth league Primavera 1, contributing with one assist.

In an Instagram post, Lukas expressed his gratitude, saying, “I want to thank everyone who helped me on this journey. Thank you very much to the club for believing in me and for helping me get to where I am now. I want to thank my agents for assisting me in adjusting to another country, and I also want to thank my dad for showing me the way and supporting me through everything.”
