The UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifying tournament kicked off today at Raudondvaris Stadium, with Lithuania’s national team delivering an emphatic 4:0 victory over their Azerbaijani counterparts.

Coached by Mindaugas Čepas, the Lithuanian side showed attacking intent from the very start, frequently exploiting the flanks and creating early chances. Rodionas Piazenko, Grantas Emerhi, and Dominykas Taučas all came close to opening the scoring in the early stages. The breakthrough finally arrived in the 29th minute, when Dovas Grudzinskas converted a well-worked attack. Just before halftime, Grudzinskas struck again, heading home from a precise cross delivered by Dominykas Liepis to double Lithuania’s lead.

In the second half, Lithuania maintained control and continued to press forward. Piazenko added a third goal in the 74th minute following a corner kick, and Jugas Turčinskas sealed the dominant performance with a fourth goal in the 82nd minute. Notably, Oskaras Pukelis played a key creative role, providing three assists during the match.

The tournament continues on Saturday at Raudondvaris Stadium, where Azerbaijan will face Northern Ireland. Lithuania will return to action on Tuesday, taking on Northern Ireland at 6:00 PM.
