Lithuania concluded their debut UEFA Futsal Euro 2026 campaign with a 3-3 draw against Armenia at Žalgiris Arena in Kaunas. The result marked Lithuania’s final match of the tournament and brought their debut appearance at a European Championship finals to an end.
Armenia, one of the surprise teams of the tournament, had already secured first place in Group B prior to kick-off and started the match strongly. Denis Nevedrov opened the scoring early, and later in the first half Armenia doubled their advantage when Deividas Reimaris inadvertently scored an own goal, sending the visitors into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
Lithuania reduced the deficit early in the second half through Edgaras Baranauskas, who made it 2-1 and brought the hosts back into the contest. Armenia responded five minutes later, restoring their two-goal cushion as captain Vladimir Sanosyan scored to make it 3-1.
With six minutes remaining and Lithuania still trailing by two goals, Baranauskas struck again, scoring his second of the match to reduce the scoreline to 3-2. Shortly afterward, Armenia had an opportunity to re-establish a two-goal lead after Lithuania committed their sixth team foul of the half. However, Denis Nevedrov’s penalty was saved by Lithuanian goalkeeper Ernestas Macenis.
Lithuania completed their comeback when Gytis Vasylius intercepted the ball and scored by lobbing over the goalkeeper into the empty net, equalising at 3-3. In the closing moments, Lithuania created another clear chance, but this time Albert Agadzhanov produced a crucial save to deny Bučma and preserve the draw.
The match ended level, with Armenia finishing the group unbeaten and advancing to the quarterfinals as Group B winners. Lithuania finished third in the group, ending their tournament with two draws and one defeat. The result also meant Lithuania finished above Czechia, who ended the group on one point after losing their final match to Ukraine in Rīga.
