Liepāja have completed the first stage of their pre-season preparations with a 5-2 win over Lithuanian side TransINVEST in the Liepāja Cup mini-tournament, where the hosts finished third, behind Nõmme Kalju and RFS.
Highlighting the need for greater concentration at the back, head coach Andreas Alm’s squad will begin the second phase of their season preparations with a two week training camp in Spain, returning home on 14 February.
A run of friendly fixtures has been lined up whilst there, with Liepāja set to face AIK Stockholm on 3 February and Ukrainian side Kryvbas on 7 February. They will also take on Spanish club Alcoyano on 11 February before finishing the schedule against Sweden’s Örebro SK on 13 February.
