In their most prolific performance under Swedish head coach Andreas Alm, FK Liepāja earned a convincing 3–1 victory on the road against Super Nova at the Jānis Skredelis Stadium in Riga.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 17th minute as Djibril Gueye got on the end of Diaw’s low cross to steer the ball home. Liepāja’s attacking momentum intensified towards the end of the first half. In the 42nd minute, Gueye capitalized on a defensive error and set up Kyvon Leidsman, who made amends for an earlier miss to double the lead. Moments later, in first-half stoppage time, Latvia international Bruno Melnis struck his sixth goal of the season to give Liepāja a commanding 3–0 advantage at the break.

Super Nova had a golden opportunity to get back into the match early in the second half when they were awarded a penalty, but Ukrainian forward Dmytro Sula was denied by Montenegrin goalkeeper Danijel Petković, who preserved the clean sheet.

While Liepāja’s defense held firm for most of the game, Super Nova eventually found a breakthrough in the closing stages. Substitute Kristaps Kļaviņš, an 18-year-old product of the Jelgava Football School, scored his first career Virslīga goal to give the hosts a consolation and spoil the shutout.

The match marked Alm’s seventh in charge of Liepāja, and for the first time under his leadership, the team scored more than two goals in a single game. With this result, Liepāja extended its unbeaten run to four matches and consolidated 4th place in the standings with 26 points from 18 matches, helped by point drops from direct rivals.

Super Nova, meanwhile, slumped to their second consecutive defeat. With 17 points from 18 games, they sit in 7th place out of 10 teams in the league.
