Latvian U19 national team left-back Kristofers Baumanis, currently part of the Venezia Primavera squad, has been loaned out to the Serie D club Nuova Sondrio.

The 18-year-old, originally from Babīte, joined the FC RFS reserve team before the 2022 season, where he played seven matches in the Nākotnes Līga. Subsequently, he moved to Venezia’s youth system.

Baumanis has had limited playing opportunities in Italy’s U19 league. To ensure more consistent game time, Venezia decided to loan the young player to Nuova Sondrio, a Serie D team already featuring two Latvian players. Two weeks ago, U21 national team forward Artjoms Puzirevskis joined the club, and another Latvian, full-back Mārtiņš Lormanis, has been part of the team since the start of the season.

Baumanis has represented Latvia’s U19 national team in two matches, playing 78 minutes against Estonia and 45 minutes against Lithuania.

Currently, Nuova Sondrio sits 16th out of 20 teams in the Serie D standings. The club is actively strengthening its squad during the winter transfer window, aiming to secure the best possible finish by the end of the season.
