Latvia’s women continue their 2027 Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign on Saturday with a trip to Helsinki to face Finland in their second match in League B.

Kick-off is at 14:30 local time, with the match shown live on futbols.tv. Latvia opened the group with a 3-2 defeat away to Slovakia, while Finland began with a 2-0 loss in Portugal.

Latvia’s remaining fixtures in this window include a meeting with Portugal, before a return to home matches in the next international window in mid-April, when they will host Portugal and Finland. The group stage concludes in early June, with Latvia travelling to Portugal and then finishing at home against Slovakia.

Europe has 11 places at the finals. Four will go to the winners of the League A groups, with seven decided via play-offs and one place settled in an intercontinental play-off. From League B, the teams finishing in the top three of each of the four groups will progress to the play-offs.

Latvia earned promotion into League B after winning their UEFA Women’s Nations League group in League C last year and also lifted the Baltic Cup.

Head coach Liene Vāciete is without the last two years’ Latvia women’s player of the year Karlīna Miksone because of injury, along with Sofija Gergeležiu and Aleksandra Sofija Mairna. Her squad includes players from Latvian clubs and from teams in Sweden, Poland, the United States, England, Iceland and Italy, with goalkeeper Madara Matrevica and defender Renāte Gaugere as the only uncapped players in the group.
