Latvia U-21 international Markuss Strods provided the assist for the winning goal as Bohemians defeated Galway United 1-0 at home in the League of Ireland Premier Division.
The 19-year-old midfielder made his second league appearance of the season for Bohemians and his first since February 8. With the match still goalless, the league leaders introduced Strods in the 70th minute.
The Latvian made an immediate impact. In the 87th minute, Strods delivered a corner kick that was headed into the net by Bohemians defender Patrick Hickey, securing all three points for the hosts.
The match marked Strods’ eighth appearance in the Irish top flight since end of 2024 season, and the assist was his first goal contribution in the competition.
After six rounds, Bohemians remain at the top of the league table, still unbeaten with five wins and one draw. They will look to continue their strong start to the season on Monday, when they travel to face Shelbourne.
