FC Kuressaare have confirmed they have agreed a contract with full-back Joonas Vahermägi. The 22-year-old, who also spent part of the pre-season period on trial with Tartu Welco, has made 27 Premium liiga appearances in his career.
Vahermägi came through Flora’s system before moving to Saaremaa, making 66 outings in the Esiliiga for the Tallinn club’s reserve side.
Kuressaare head coach Sander Post said the defender’s form last season made him a key part of the squad heading into the new campaign.
“Joonas played himself into the picture last season and will be an important link in the team in the season that is about to start,” Post noted.
