Latvian winger Kristaps Grabovskis featured in his second match of the season for B.93 in Denmark’s second-tier First Division, as his team earned a 1-1 draw away against Lyngby-marking their second consecutive tie by the same scoreline.
The new Danish First Division season kicked off last week, and the 20-year-old Latvian was given a starting role in B.93’s season opener against Hvidovre IF. He made an active contribution during the 58 minutes he spent on the pitch, helping the team secure a 1-1 draw.
Today, Grabovskis was again named in the starting XI, this time operating as a left winger. He made an immediate impact in the fourth minute by drawing a foul that resulted in a yellow card for the opposition. As the match progressed, he transitioned to the right flank, where he executed several effective plays and provided energy down the wing.
B.93 took the lead in the 32nd minute following a swift counterattack. Danish midfielder Nicklas Mouritsen delivered a perfectly timed through ball to North Macedonian forward Fisnik Isaki, who cut to his left and fired a low shot past the defender and into the bottom left corner-giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Grabovskis played slightly more minutes than in the previous match, coming off in the 66th minute with his team still ahead 1-0.
However, just five minutes later, Lyngby found the equalizer. A long ball from the home side’s goalkeeper allowed their forward to break in behind the defense. A collision with the B.93 goalkeeper went uncalled by the referee, leaving Icelandic striker Isak Thorvaldsson to slot the loose ball into an open net to make it 1-1.
No further goals were scored, and the final whistle confirmed another 1-1 result for B.93 to start the season.
The team will now look to secure their first win of the campaign in their third-round fixture, which also marks their home opener, on Friday against Hillerød.
