Kotryna Kulbyté, former Lithuania Women’s National Team assistant coach, has been announced as the head coach of Uzbekistan Women’s National Team.

Kulbyté, who holds a historic distinction of being the first female Lithuanian coach to earn a UEFA PRO license, has previously been in charge of Lithuania U-15 and U-17 women’s national teams, and, most recently, held the post of assistant coach to Daniel Wimmer at the senior team.

The primary goal of the newly appointed head coach will be to prepare Uzbekistan for the Women’s Asian Cup, which will be hosted by Uzbekistan in 2029.

Speaking to Baltic Football News about her appointment, Kotryna Kulbyté reflected:

I am incredibly excited to take on this role with the Uzbekistan national football team. It is truly an honor to represent a nation that is bursting with spirit and passion for football. I see a ton of potential in the team, and I can’t wait to tap into that.

As we prepare for the Asian Qualifiers in June, We’ll be holding at least four training camps, along with some friendly matches leading up to the qualifiers. These camps will be crucial to put our best foot forward when it matters most. I am looking forward to the journey ahead and am committed to fostering a strong team culture that reflects the pride of the Uzbek people.
