# Klimavičius appointed Panevėžys reserves head coach
Panevėžys have appointed former first-team captain Linas **Klimavičius** as head coach of the club’s B side, replacing Povilas Lukšys in a key off-season change.

The club’s reserve team finished 16th in last season’s Pirma lyga after six consecutive campaigns at that level and have been relegated to the II lyga A division. Klimavičius will begin his coaching career in that competition with Panevėžys B.

Lukšys will remain at the organisation, continuing in his role as technical director of the Panevėžys Football Academy.

“_I’m really happy to have a new challenge in football,_” Klimavičius told the club’s website. “_I’m pleased to have the opportunity to work as a coach and I’ll put in every effort so that as many players as possible reach the first team and play in the A Lyga. I didn’t want to step away from football after finishing my career – I feel I can pass on my experience to young players and give them extra motivation to chase their dreams_.”
