FK Grobiņa have announced the signing of Ukrainian wide player Artem Kholod, formerly of FK Tukums 2000.
The 25-year-old, who is capable of operating across the entire right flank, spent last season with Tukums 2000, making 32 Virslīga appearances and registering two assists.
Born in Kharkiv, Kholod will now represent his third Latvian club in as many years. At the end of the 2024 season, he joined FS Jelgava, where he featured in five matches. Earlier in his career, the Ukrainian had spells in the youth systems of Metalist Kharkiv and Shakhtar Donetsk, and later played professionally in Ukraine, the United States, and Bulgaria.
For FK Grobiņa’s Ukrainian sporting director Yevhen Tarasenko, this marks the club’s second official signing of the offseason, following the earlier announcement of Nigerian defensive midfielder Oladotun Olatunde-Matthew, who arrived from Moldovan side Milsami.
