Kauno Žalgiris have ended Jair Tavares’ spell at the club after agreeing a mutual termination of his contract.
The Portuguese winger, who joined the Lithuanian champions in 2025, leaves with immediate effect as the A Lyga side reshape their squad.
The club did not disclose further details of the decision, confirming only that the separation was reached by agreement between both parties.
Tavares joined Kauno Žalgiris from Hibernians, where his contract was also terminated by mutual agreement. The former Portugal U-19 international failed to make an impact in Kaunas, however, only making 7 league appearances for a total of 169 minutes (of 630 possible), scoring 1 goal and providing 1 assist, both in the penultimate match of the season against Panevėžys.
