Kauno Žalgiris are the winners of the 2025 LFF Futsal Super Cup after a 3–1 victory over Vikingai from Jonava in a dramatic final.
The match began with Vikingai fielding the same line-up as in their semi-final against Bruklinas, while Žalgiris were forced into a change as Tomas Bučma replaced the suspended Vinicius. Early pressure came from the Kaunas side, with multiple attempts testing national team goalkeeper Karolis Čirba.
It was Vikingai who struck first. Capitalising on a defensive mistake, Colombian forward Carlos Arturo Sepulveda lifted the ball over Ernest Lukaševič to put his side ahead. Žalgiris responded quickly, Konstantin Bondarenko equalising from the right wing. The first half ended 1–1, with four yellow cards shown and Lukaševič saving a ten-metre penalty from Clayton Soarez in the closing seconds.
In the second half Žalgiris proved more clinical. Vladimir Derendiajev gave them the lead before Joao Vitor De Souza added a third. Vikingai switched to a flying goalkeeper in a late push but could not find a way back.
Earlier in the third-place play-off, Akmenės Kraštas claimed the club’s first ever small trophy with a 5–1 win over Bruklinas. After falling behind to a Vinicius Moreira goal, Akmenės equalised through Klaus Anderson Ferreira, who went on to score a hat-trick in the second half. Felipe De Oliveira and Ferreira himself struck into empty nets after Bruklinas brought on an extra outfield player. Ferreira ended the tournament with eight goals in two matches.
Ernestas Lukaševič, the 19-year-old Žalgiris goalkeeper who saved four penalties across the semi-finals and final, was named player of the tournament.
The new Futsal A Lyga season will kick off in two weeks.
