In the 21st round of the Estonian Premium Liiga, FC Nõmme Kalju delivered a commanding 6–2 home victory over JK Tallinna Kalev. While the visitors managed to hit the net twice, it was a dominant display from Kalju that left little doubt about the outcome.
The goal fest began early in the 7th minute, when right-back Nikita Ivanov surged forward and delivered a pass to Mattias Männilaan, who then teed up Brazilian playmaker Guilherme. Channeling the flair of his homeland, Guilherme curled a precise shot from the edge of the box into the bottom corner — 1–0 to Kalju.
In the 20th minute, a chaotic scene unfolded when Kalev’s recent signing, goalkeeper Max Weinstein, brought down Ibrahim Jabir in the penalty area. After a lengthy five-minute VAR review, referee pointed to the spot. Ivanov stepped up and coolly slotted the ball into the bottom left corner — 2–0.
Kalju continued to dominate and ended the half with a third goal in added time. Once again, Männilaan was the provider, splitting the defense with a beautiful through ball to Jabir, who made no mistake — 3–0.
The second half saw both managers make changes, with Tiago Baptista entering for Kalju, and Aleksander Švedovski and Aleksandr Šurõgin coming on for Kalev. The visitors gained a bit more composure and energy, but their brief resurgence was quickly quashed.
On 60 minutes, Guilherme once again turned creator, finding Jabir lurking at the far post with a sublime pass — 4–0. Twelve minutes later, Enrique Esono in his second match for Kalju danced past Kalev’s center-backs and lofted a ball to substitute Mihhail Orlov, who headed it home — 5–0.
Kalev finally found some consolation in the 76th minute when Sander Alex Liit fouled Taavi Jürisoo just outside the box. Habib Famuditimi sent in a free-kick that found Momodou Jallow, who battled through heavy marking to nod the ball into the net, but ultimately it was ruled an own goal by Sander Liit — 5–1.
Ten minutes later, Jürisoo delivered another quality cross, this time to Martin Tomberg, who headed in Kalev’s second — 5–2.
But Kalju had the last word. In the 88th minute, Guilherme whipped in a pinpoint cross that found Tiago Baptista who scored his first Premium Liiga goal as the match ended with the final score 6-2.
