Nõmme Kalju have confirmed midfielder Kristjan Kask will miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury in their latest Premium Liiga match.
The 26-year-old hurt his right knee in the first half against Harju Laagri, going down after becoming tangled in a challenge and clutching his leg. Tests have since shown an anterior cruciate ligament rupture, with the club saying the injury will require surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation.
“We know a difficult period is ahead, but everyone at Nõmme Kalju supports Kristjan on this journey. We look forward to seeing you back on the pitch,” the club said in a statement.
Kask has made 13 league appearances this season, scoring once and providing one assist. Across his Premium Liiga career, including spells at Nõmme Kalju, Viljandi Tulevik and Pärnu Vaprus, he has played 248 top-flight matches and scored 32 goals.
