# Kalju extend Maksim Podholjuzin’s contract until the end of 2027 season
Kalju have extended the contract of veteran centre-back Maksim Podholjuzin, keeping the 33-year-old at the club until at least the end of the 2027 Premium liiga season. Podholjuzin has been a key figure in Kalju’s back line in recent campaigns and is regarded as one of the dressing-room leaders, with the club highlighting his consistency and composure.

Podholjuzin said he was motivated for the seasons ahead. “_I’m happy about extending my contract_,” he told club media. “_I’m grateful to the club management, coaches, the team and everyone who has trusted and supported me on this path. There’s a lot of work ahead, new goals and challenges. I’m ready to give my maximum for the team, the club and our fans._”

Podholjuzin was named on the Premium liiga Best XI of 2025 by _Baltic Football News._ In total, he had played 449 Premium liiga matches, placing him 7th on the competition’s all-time appearances list, just behind Tarmo Neemelo. During this time, he distinguished himself by winning the league three times, the Cup five times, and the Super Cup twice.
