Lithuanian winger Tomas Kalinauskas and his Kalmar FF side officially sealed promotion to the Allsvenskan today with a decisive 2-0 victory over Örgryte. Kalinauskas provided the assist for the opening goal of the match.

After two quiet outings, the 25-year-old returned to form on Saturday, grabbing an assist in the crucial win. In the 11th minute, Kalinauskas picked out Saba Mamatsashvili with a precise pass, and the Georgian midfielder fired home a superb finish to give Kalmar the lead.

Kalinauskas, currently on loan from English League One side Burton Albion, was substituted in the 58th minute after another energetic performance on the right wing. Kalmar went on to double their advantage later in the game – again through Mamatsashvili – to secure their top-two finish and a swift return to Sweden’s elite division after just one season away.

Since joining Kalmar in the summer, Kalinauskas has been one of the team’s standout performers, tallying five goals and four assists in 13 appearances.

With one match remaining – a home fixture against Falkenberg next Saturday – Kalinauskas will look to help Kalmar finish the job in style and potentially lift the Superettan title, as rivals Västerås SK sit just two points behind.
