Estonia international Mattias Käit scored his second goal of the season as FC Thun cruised to a 5-1 victory over Grasshoppers, continuing their remarkable march toward the Swiss Super League title.

The 27-year-old midfielder returned to the starting lineup after missing last weekend’s match due to a minor injury. Thun had still managed to win that game 2-1 away at Young Boys, extending their impressive run of form.

Just like in their previous two league matches, Thun conceded the opening goal before turning the game around. Käit played a key role in the comeback, scoring the equaliser in the 33rd minute. In snowy conditions following a corner kick, the Estonian midfielder managed to guide the ball into the net while facing away from goal, netting his second league goal of the season.

From that point on, the league leaders dominated the match, adding four unanswered goals to seal a convincing victory.

Thun’s outstanding form continues, as the club has now gone more than three months without a defeat in the league. They currently sit comfortably at the top of the table, holding a 17-point lead over second-placed St. Gallen.

Käit played 77 minutes before being substituted. The match marked his 21st appearance in the Swiss Super League this season.

Thun will look to extend their winning run next Saturday when they travel to face FC Zürich.
